The Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara
The Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara in Abu Dhabi has officially opened doors. Developed by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the hotel is Anantara’s first city-based hotel in the Middle East. Situated along a 1.2-km stretch of protected mangrove reserves, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa will appeal to corporate and leisure travellers.
Michel Koopman, general manager of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara and director of operations for Anantara in the Middle East, said at the opening: “Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara will offer guests understated luxury with traditional Arabian hospitality, which has already been adopted in our two existing resorts in the UAE.”
“Anantara is very fortunate to be able to offer three unique and different destination experiences that showcase a 360-degree angle of Abu Dhabi as a destination with a stay package combining city, desert and island experience for the growing number of travellers visiting Abu Dhabi,” he added.
Ahmed Al Fahim, executive director of Marketing, Communications, Sales & Leasing at TDIC, said: “We are excited to deliver the first milestone towards completing this stunning project, which will also feature an exclusive resort-style residential community of 220 high-end apartments, a retail complex and a vibrant 30-berth marina, all scheduled for completion starting this summer until the end of the year.”
The luxury hotel comprises 222 spacious rooms all triple glazed- from the entry-level Deluxe Balcony rooms, to the Royal Mangroves Residence – the largest suite in the UAE with up to ten bedrooms. Opening /summer rates start from Dh1,200++ ($326) per night where guests who enjoy a night’s stay will receive credit worth the same value, which can be redeemed for dining or spa experiences. Various other combinations packages with its sister properties, the Qasr Al Sarab and Desert Island are also available on the website anantara.com.
David Garner, regional director of Sales & Marketing for Anantara Hotels, said: “With the opening of the Eastern mangroves Hotel & Spa, we have a very niche opportunity to give our guests a memorable experience of Abu Dhabi and Anantara.”
“In the first year of operation, up to 70 per cent of business is expected to come from the GCC markets, while international guests arrivals - driven through our website - is expected to grow in the subsequent years,” he added.
The Royal Mangroves Residence is the most opulent of the hotel’s accommodation offering the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity. The suite comes equipped with its own 10 m rooftop swimming pool with a swim-up pool bar, plus dedicated entrance. Guests of the Royal Mangroves Residence also have access to a limousine service, private chef, butler and a massage and beauty therapist during their stay.
Throughout the hotel, guests can partake in a world of delectable dining. The signature restaurant Pachaylen, offers an authentic Thai experience, and Ingredients, the all-day dining venue, serves a range of international dishes and Middle Eastern cuisine. The stylish rooftop lounge, Impressions, is a nightlife destination and offers million dollar views of the Mangroves and the Abu Dhabi skyline. The hotel also offers an Anantara Spa with 10 treatment rooms and a traditional Turkish Hammam.
