Hili Archaeological Gardens
Hili Archaeological Gardens are located in Hili Fun City, Abu Dhabi. This Archaeological Park is famous among local residents and tourists alike for its picturesque gardens and its historical importance. In fact, the garden and its immediate land are the location of a large number of Bronze Age and Iron Age sites, dating to 2500-400 BC.
It is one of the most investigated, because of an expedition, which began work here in the late 1970s. The garden houses of a round mud-brick tower with a few outbuildings. Such towers were built late third millennium BC.
The most attractive feature of the gardens is the Grand Garden Tomb or Tomb A. It is a circular construction 10.5 m in diameter, with three internal dividing walls, which further make four interior chambers.
The remains of over 200 people were recovered from this tomb, along-with several ceramic and soft-stone vessels, copper tools and two etched carnelian beads, beleived to have originated in the Indus Valley.
The park also has children’s playgrounds, picnic areas and a coffee shop.
