Donate-A-Brick
Our Dream:
The Good Heart Organization is raising funds through Donate a Brick campaign to set up a Special Care Community School in view of providing some 300 children with special needs, with a state of the art environment for their education and holistic upbringing. We would like to open the first academic year in January 2010. So we need all your support now to achieve this dream.
As the Special Care Centre will be financed by the community, the Centre is also intended to be a place which non-students and their families can use for further knowledge, improvement of their skills and also benefit from individual, group or family counselling. Visitors and members of the Community at large will thus be able to make use of the numerous facilities that will be provided by the school namely auditorium, gymnasium, multipurpose area, hydrotherapy pool, clinic, library, school shop, playground, gardens, etc.
The site earmarked for the proposed school is located at Al Bahia. It has a total land extent of 22,447.59 square meters.
As the site is situated in a good residential area of Al Bahia, the proposed school should not look conventional but more of a modern resort building, a recreational complex for use by one and all. It is expected that the fascia of the school should not only be a mirror of the natural surrounding beauty of the region but also demonstrate the unique and heartfelt ways funds were raised to build the school, brick by brick. The building should be a functional space, with an abundance of natural sunlight where students and community members will find peace and solace in, whilst providing the much-needed services. The building should be 100% compliant with established international standards for schools catering for children with special needs.
