Western Region Development Council (WRDC)
Under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Western Region Development Council (WRDC) has been established to shape the "Al Gharbia’s" future by placing the region and its people’s interests at heart.
Following the re-development of the Al Gharbia local governance model, which began in 2004 and was completed by the formation of the Western Region Development Council and Western Region Municipality in early 2006. A decree was then issued in May 2006 and work began in September 2006.
Improving the lives of the people in Al Gharbia is one of themain goals of the Western Region Development Council.
