Kalima
Kalima - a major new translation initiative by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage, which funds the translation, publication and distribution of high quality foreign writing into Arabic.
Every year Kalima will select 100 candidate titles of classic, contemporary and modern writing from around the world to be translated into Arabic.
How titles are selected:
Kalima has put a rigorous selection procedure in place to ensure that only high quality titles, recognised as excellent works, by well respected authors, are selected.
Each selection will comprise a mix of literature, academic texts and other writing such as business books. In addition to ensuring that only quality titles are selected, we also take into account the types of titles that will appeal to readers and be commercially successful.
