Hydra Open Air Cinema
The open air cinema of Hydra is a popular summer venue with both visitors and locals on Hydra Island Greece. Watching a good film under the stars, as well as laughing at the cats as they walk along the top of the screen, for many people is a new experience when all they are used to are huge multi-complexes.
This November, the citizens of UAE will enjoy a lot as a major-open air entertainment event will be organized in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

SwissOpenAir Concept, the entertainment major of open air cinema screening, and Hydra Properties, have opened this cinema as a tie-up
Swiss OpenAir Concept has conducted a thorough study of the demographics involved in the movie market, and the kind of movies shown will reflect the people’s tastes as well as suit the outdoor movie experience. By screening a Bollywood movie and an Arabic film apart from the Hollywood blockbusters at each of the venues, the event will cater to all segments of the UAE’s multi-cultural population.
Swiss Open Air Concept, the creators of the concept, will be bringing down the largest ever patented mobile hydraulic screen technology just for the event. Over 4000 square foot screen rises six stories high and is accompanied by a 32 speaker digital surround sound system with pre-movie entertainment and a veritable cuisine festival at the venue complementing the experience.
There is an exciting musical prelude, full of anticipation and an outstanding lighting show which are the special ingredients of the Swiss Open Air experience.
This event is scheduled to take place from November 10th to the 21st in Madinat Jumeirah Dubai and from the 1st to the 12th of December at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Swiss Open Air screens were first developed in 1993 as the world’s largest hydraulically erected mobile screens. Despite their enormous size and weight (up to 70 tons), the screens can be dismantled for convenient transport and are constantly on tour around the world playing to movie lovers in cities such as Zurich, Basel and Sydney.
