Department of Planning and Economy
The Department of Planning and Economy is responsible for proposing the economic and commercial policy of the Abu Dhabi Emirate and preparing the plans and programmes required for implementing such policy.
It is also responsible for conducting the necessary studies to encourage and promote the private sector. The Department of Planning and Economy provides commercial licensing and trade name registration. It also participates in economic and trading seminars and conferences locally and internationally
The vision of the Department of Planning and Economy is to create an ideal economic environment, which ensures continued development and provides promising opportunities for a developed society.
Putting the economic plans, development of the business environment in Abu Dhabi, providing the instrument and mechanism which concentrate on the customer`s requirement in order to continue provision of opportunities to the society.
The objectives of the Department is to achieve economic development in the emirate, regulate economic and commercial affairs, and work for development of the same in the interest of the country.
In its keenness to offer distinguished services, the Department is also offering comprehensive information on the course of procedures of the services that are provided by the Department.
Economic indicators mirror the economic situation in the emirate, because they provide the latest accurate information about the performance of economic and social sectors. This information enables decision makers at all levels as well as investors inside and outside the UAE to follow the progress of the emirate’s economy and know the available investment areas.
Studies & Researches Directorate includes a group of economic researchers and analysts as well as statisticians. Statistical information is collected from local government and non-government authorities and international bodies and organizations. This information is analyzed through the indicators and time series and economic and social indicators are provided to users in a computer-friendly way
