Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure
The Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure (AD-SDI) is an initiative of the government of Abu Dhabi, administered within the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Committee (ADSIC) e-government program to facilitate the sharing of geospatial data among government agencies and other stakeholders. The AD-SDI foundation stage builds on important work already completed by government and will improve information sharing, reduce redundancy, and support more efficient operations and better informed decision-making in government. ADSIC has established its Spatial Data Coordination Centre to facilitate, coordinate, and support the work of the AD-SDI stakeholders. The most important partners in the AD-SDI initiative are the stakeholders - the organizations that generate and use spatial data. The foundation stage will work most closely with selected agencies, and will expand incrementally to work with the full range of stakeholders, including other government agencies, educational and research institutions, civil society, and the private sector.
