Bin Salem Holding rolls out plan to build 5 star luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi
H.E. Salem Bin Mohamad Bin Salem Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Bin Salem Holding along with Singapore Minister of State for Trade and Industry, H.E. Li Yi Shyan, yesterday lead the groundbreaking ceremony of "Grand Corniche" Hotel in Abu Dhabi which will be a significant addition to Abu Dhabi’s hospitality stock and an aesthetic asset for the capital’s skyline.Mr. Ahmed Bin Mohamad Bin Salem Al Dhaheri, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Bin Salem General Trading Enterprises, one of the companies of "Bin Salem Holding", Mr. Tan Thai Hong, Group CEO of Surbana Consultants, Singapore and Mr. Lee Tabler, CEO of Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) along with officials from Singapore’s civil service, Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) and business elite attended the ceremony.Surbana is the architectural and consulting firm for this iconic project owned by Bin Salem GTE which reflects the Abu Dhabi’s maritime heritage. The project management contract has been awarded to Jacobs International Holdings Inc.The sleek 35-storey architectural landmark will house an array of luxurious offerings such as a 5-star hotel with 308 rooms, 125 suites, 140 furnished serviced apartments, boutique retail podium, business centre, a spa and health club, swimming pool and restaurants serving fine cuisines.The project estimated to exceed AED 650 million and scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009, spans over 4,800 square-meters and a total buildup area of 73,000 square-meters in addition to 4 basements with total area 19,000 square-meters. Mr. Ahmed Bin Mohamad Bin Salem Al Dhaheri highlighted the important role and the fruitful cooperation that TDIC showed for this project and the strong backing of H. E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and TDIC that made this a successful project.
