More flights during the Summer Season at Abu Dhabi international Airport
(1 May 2011)
More than 900 weekly flights from Abu Dhabi to the world

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) today presented the summer flight schedule from Abu Dhabi International Airport that introduces new destinations, frequency increases, and new airlines. According to the schedule, there is a 12.8% increase in the total number of flights offered to and from the UAE capital during this summer season (April – October) compared to the same season last year.

Analytically, in the summer 2011 Timetable, airlines at Abu Dhabi International Airport will be operating more than900 weekly scheduled flights, connecting the emirate’s airport to over 80 international destinations in more than45 countries.

The expansion of Etihad Airways, the UAE’s flag carrier, is a significant contributor to the growth, with its launch of flights to Seoul and Bangalore during the past winter, as well as additional flights to its other destinations. New airlines launching their services to Abu Dhabi International Airport this season is another important factor to the expanded schedule, together with the increased frequencies from our existing airline-partners. These include V Australia’s three flights per week to Sydney, which began in February 2011, Cathay Pacific’s four flights per week to Hong Kong starting in June this year.

Eng. Ahmad Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President of Airports Operation, ADAC, said:

“At ADAC, we strive to deliver a unique travel experience and a variety of choices to all passengers, and we are able to deliver this promise through the continuous support of our airline partners. The new summer season flight schedule offers our passengers a larger selection of destinations, airlines and flights, while further enhancing the connectivity at Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

“As we gear up towards the busy summer season, Abu Dhabi International Airport will be welcoming its passengers with a fully refurbished facility at Terminal 1 offering the high-end retail, food and beverage, and travel services available currently at Terminal 3.” Al Haddabi added.

In the new timetable for summer 2011, ADIA’s top international routes are Muscat with 75 and Doha with 71 scheduled weekly frequencies, followed by London, Kuwait and Bahrain.
