Abu Dhabi International Airport- one the fastest growing airports in the world 24% increase in passenger traffic during peak days at Abu Dhabi international Airport Airlines’ testimonials amongst the Capital’s airport’ many prestigious international awards.
During the past summer months (June- Aug) Abu Dhabi International Airport have witnessed a surge in passenger numbers, to register one of the highest growth rates in passenger traffic internationally. August alone recorded a 14% increase in the capital’s airport’ performance compared with the same month last year.
The double digit growth recorded at Abu Dhabi International Airport during this summer is mainly attributed to the healthy growth of all airlines operating at the airport, while also supported by school holidays, Ramadan and Eid. Being one of the fastest growing airports in the region, Abu Dhabi has been growing by 12.2%, during the first 8 months of 2011.
Furthermore, the summer season of 2011 registered new records for the average daily passenger and aircraft handling at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The average daily traffic at the Capital’s airport is known to be around 32,798 passengers; however this number reached its peak with 40,830 passengers passing through the airport on 29th July recording 24% growth, and 38,942 passengers on 26th August recording 19% growth over the daily average.
