Abu Dhabi International Airport Joins UAE 40th National Day Celebrations

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) announced today its plans for celebrating the UAE’s 40th National Day at Abu Dhabi International Airport, offering passengers, airport employees and partners the opportunity to join the nationwide celebrations of this important day.

As part of its celebrations, ADAC dressed its facilities with the UAE flags and decorated all the terminals at Abu Dhabi International Airport in a way to portray the spirit of the union in celebrating the 40th anniversary including flag decorations and images of the heritages of Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi.

Passengers are also welcomed to participate in the celebrations within traditional tents to experience authentic UAE hospitality, including falconry displays, traditional foods, Arabic coffee as well henna art. Periodic live traditional dances will also be held inside the terminals for passengers and airport staff to enjoy.

To further commemorate 40th anniversary, throughout the last 40 days ahead of 2nd December ADAC awarded every day the 40th passenger of every airline checking in at the airport with a special gift to mark this proud occasion. Bags with UAE branded gifts will be distributed to passengers who will also enjoy a unique travel experience on the day.

H.E. Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of ADAC said: “As a national company in the UAE, we are proud to participate in the country’s celebrations of this historical event. Our position as the gateway to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will help raise awareness of the UAE and its proud history to the passengers of Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

ADAC staff were also given the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the UAE National Day through a list of activities planned by the company which included welcoming staff to a traditional majilis with authentic food and beverages served in the background of oud music along with Youla dancing, falconry, camels, henna, and food cooking activities. The staff also enjoyed a traditional performance from the talented students of Emirates national School who participated in the company’s celebrations with all of the staff and airport members.
