Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) launched the first UAE gallery at Abu Dhabi International Airport, delivering towards Abu Dhabi government initiative in promoting local art and culture. The new gallery will introduce the UAE culture and heritage to all passengers using the airport for arrival, departure or transit through displays by various local cultural and art institutions.
This new initiative comes as a result of Abu Dhabi International Airport programme to continuously enhance the passenger travel experience through enriching their time spent at the Capital’s airport with unique services and offerings. The first cycle of displays will be commissioned from Zayed’s Centre for Studies and research showcasing ornaments, artefacts and other symbolic belongings of the Late President of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, Father of the Nation.
Speaking about this new initiative from Abu Dhabi International Airport, Mohammed Al Katheeri, VP Quality Assurance & EHS at ADAC, said: “It has always been one of ADAC’s objectives to promote Abu Dhabi as a unique destination that is rich with its history and heritage. The initiation of this UAE art gallery at the Capital’s gateway will showcase the UAE’s heritage and legacy to the international audience visiting the Airport. ADAC do hope that passengers will enjoy the once again refreshing travel experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport.”
The UAE Gallery is now open to visitors in both Terminal 1 and 3 as well as in the arrival area, and will remain open throughout 2012, with the display changeable every four months.
