Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has appointed Pieter Idenburg as its new Group CEO. Idenburg will take up his new role starting 1 August 2012.
Dutchman Idenburg brings more than 25 years of customer service passion and business acumen to ADNEC. Idenburg has held senior management positions in a number of international organisations such as American Airlines, The Walt Disney Company and British Airways.
Most recently, Idenburg served as CEO of Suntec Singapore Exhibition & Convention Centre. Having been with Suntec Singapore since 2005, Idenburg helmed events such as The IMF / Worldbank Conference, APEC meetings and the first ever Youth Olympic Games. Idenburg also served as CEO of Suntec International.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of ADNEC, commented: “Pieter’s experience and industry knowledge will strengthen the organisation, and his appointment supports ADNEC’s vision to be the most successful exhibition, conference and events centre in the region.”

Whilst in Singapore, Pieter Idenburg served as Chairman of the Board of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Singapore) and was a member of the Board of Singapore’s European Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a Committee Member of the Hospitality and Retail Group of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and was also a Board Member of the iconic Singapore Flyer.

Idenburg’s appointment completes the restructure of ADNEC’s senior leadership team.
