Fairmont Brings Style Of Royal Ascot To The UAE And Beyond

Fairmont and Royal Ascot brands unite in the name of ultimate luxury

 

Royal Ascot is much more than a horse race, and Fairmont properties are much more than hotels – both represent the ultimate in style, sophistication, and tradition. As the UAE’s eminent racing contingent flock to Britain’s most enviable society meeting, Fairmont properties in the UAE and beyond will celebrate with festivities and elegant offerings to mark the occasion.

On June 23, the final day of Ascot, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi will have two celebrations. In the afternoon, The Chocolate Gallery will host a Royal Ascot Afternoon Tea with a ‘Mad Hat’ competition, while for the final race Frankie’s guests will enjoy a special 3-course menu, including bottomless Prosecco. In China at Fairmont Peace Hotel’s Jasmine Lounge Royal Ascot Afternoon Tea will be served as well as the Diamond jubilee punch. In Scotland, Fairmont St Andrews will serve both the Diamond Jubilee punch and the Royal Ascot Afternoon Tea menu throughout June, while The Savoy will serve the Diamond Jubilee punch in the American Bar.

This year, the two brands are unitingfor a second time to offer high society a taste of luxury with an exquisite Afternoon Tea service inspired by Fairmont being served in the Bessborough Restaurant on each day of Royal Ascot (June 19 – 23, 2012). And while the racing is world class, the event has also become known for its fashion - with attendees wearing their stylish best and the Royal Ascot Fashion Show, held daily in the restaurant and sponsored by Fairmont, a place for internationally renowned British designers to show off their collections.New this year, Fairmont hotels in destinations from Scotland to Shanghai will also be hosting their own Ascot-inspired events and menus throughout the summer, bringing this regal event to Fairmont guests around the world.

This year The Afternoon Tea Menu and Diamond Jubilee punch, which have been designed by The Savoyand inspired by Fairmont hotels around the world, will be a highlight of the event. Delicious treats include a Lemon Meringue Tart with Raspberry Jam (The Plaza, New York), Organic Egg and Shiso Cress Saladon White Bread (Fairmont Peace Hotel, Shanghai), Smoked Scottish Salmon with Mild Horseradish on Brown Bread (Fairmont St. Andrews, Scotland), Mini Pita Breads with Hummus and Pomegranate (Fairmont Dubai), and more.

Erik Lorincz, Head Bartender at The Savoy’s iconic American Bar has also created an exclusive cocktail to be served in the Bessborough Restaurant in celebration of HM Queen Elizabeth II for her Diamond Jubilee year. Fittingly dubbed the Diamond Jubilee Cocktail, it is a delicious mix of Bombay Sapphire gin, citrus juices, Earl Grey Tea and Champagne.
