The Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy has been continuing its efforts to host the International Conference on Women’s Sports at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi under the theme: "Sports, Health and Happiness" from April 10- 11.
The sports event will be held under the patronage of H. H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Chairwoman for the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The event also enjoys direct interest and support of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy.
Dr Mouza Al Shehhi, Executive Director of the Academy said that the aim for convening the conference was to empower the women’s sport and reach out for them at home or at workplaces to build healthy and sport community.
The conference will be attended by prominent local, regional and international personalities and will address the following aspects of women’s sports: individual will and collective encouragement, sports and women’s physical and psychological health, and the role of the media and women’s associations in encouraging sport.
