Manchester City FC star players are to deliver a special thank you message to fans in the UAE who stay up late to watch the team take on rivals Chelsea.
It will be seen by Sky Blue members at a screening of the big match against Chelsea on Wednesday night, March 21st, at the Sky Blue Fan Zone in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi.
Players want to thank fans for staying up and cheering on the team when they kick off at 11.45pm UAE time.
“This is our way of saying thanks to all the fans in the UAE,” said team captain Vincent Kompany.
“There are many Manchester City supporters in the UAE and they are very passionate about the club and the link they now have with us.”
“This is a big game and I know it will be very late for fans in the UAE when we kick-off so it means a lot to us at the club that this screening is happening.”
The Sky Blue Fan Zone, in The Clubhouse at Zayed Sports City, opens at 11pm with food and beverage served until the game finishes at 1.30am.
Everyone who attends will be given a free breakfast when they leave with competitions also being held at half-time.
The game against Chelsea is a key fixture for City as they enter the final stages of the Barclays Premier League title race.
With only ten games to go, every point is vital as the team competes with close rivals Manchester United in the hunt for championship glory.
