(19 March 2012)
First two sessions result in successful implementation of over 155 community recommendations

In line with the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC’s (SEHA) commitment to enhance community outreach, its healthcare facilities are set to commence their third round of quarterly town hall meetings to solicit stakeholder and patient feedback. The first two sessions, led to the successful implementation of over 155 recommendations and suggestions offered by stakeholders and patients. The third round of Ma’asool will facilitate the participation of patients and stakeholders with special needs by making available specific areas and services, and special needs capable venues such as the Abu Dhabi Sports Club and the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minor Affairs.

The Mas’aool initiative was started as a way of offering patients and their families a chance to interact directly with SEHA and its facilities’ decision makers to apprise them of feedback and opinions on the healthcare received. The debut session, which commenced in September 2011, saw the successful implementation of over 100 stakeholder-generated recommendations, while the second round seeded 55 initiatives.

“The Mas’aool community town hall initiative is a meeting space that helps SEHA’s decision makers and healthcare providers ask their patients and the community for feedback and ideas geared towards service improvement. It offers a valuable channel to communicate with stakeholders, understand expectations, and seek to improve healthcare delivery through the implementation of viable ideas. SEHA’s goal is to offer world class healthcare and getting patients and stakeholders to rate our services and offer suggestions through the Mas’aool initiative is a key part of that,” said Khalifa Al Ketbi, Group Deputy Chief Operating Officer, SEHA.

“The first two rounds of the Mas’aool initiative were highly successful in generating useful recommendations, over 155 of which were implemented in different hospitals in the SEHA HealthSystem,” he added.

The next round of Mas’aool discussions with stakeholders are expected to start within the next six months as SEHA looks to discuss and shortlist further viable ideas from the first two sessions and evaluate all relevant feedback to further improve excellence in healthcare delivery. Apart from the Abu Dhabi Sports Club and the Zayed Higher Organization, meetings will be held at the premises of different SEHA healthcare providers, including Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Corniche Hospital, Al Rahba Hospital, Mafraq Hospital, Tawam Hospital, Al Ain Hospital, Al Gharbia Hospitals (Madinat Zayed, Sila, Mirfa and Ghayathi) and the Ambulatory Healthcare Services arranging for 2 different sessions one took place today (19th March 2012) in Al Mujai Centre in Al Ain and the other is taking place tomorrow (20th March 2012) in Khalifa A Center.
