Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the 7th International Conference of Al Noor (ICAN) will be held next month.
The three-day conference titled "Tumors (Oncology) in Healthcare" will be held on March 15th at Sheraton Hotel Abu Dhabi with an expected participation of more than 350 physicians and technicians in various medical fields relevant to the diagnosis and treatment of tumors of all types from within and outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Conference’s Scientific Committee finalized the selection and adoption of topics and lectures that will be discussed during the 11 scientific sessions. The conference will host seven international speakers specialized in the area of Oncology from Spire International Hospitals in United Kingdom , besides, 10 regional speakers from the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi, Mafraq Hospital, Tawam Hospital, Al Noor Hospital and Gulf International Cancer Centre in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Kassem Alom, CEO of Al Noor Hospitals Group in Abu Dhabi and the Conference President, said the conference is being held due to the care given by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi and Al Noor Hospitals Group to enhance the continuing medical education programs, to refine the experience of doctors and technical staff, and to provide the best diagnostic and therapeutic health services.
Dr. Hala Abdel Latif, Ph.D. and specialist oncologist in Al Noor Hospital - Khalifa branch, the Conference co-director and the official spokesperson for the conference said that the conference will focus on assessing the chemotherapy treatment option for cancer, the role of timing of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the methods of dealing with nerve tumors and determining time for early detection and diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinomas, brain tumors, kidney lesions and many other scientific topics.
Dr. Aman El-Duweini, Secretary General of the Conference, said that the conference target audiences are oncologists, surgeons, neurologists, general practitioners, internal medicine, cosmetic surgeons, pathologists, anesthetists, radiologists, pharmacists, laboratory and radiology technicians and nursing staff. Beside the conference, a medical exhibition will be held on the sidelines including a group of specialized medical companies offering the latest innovations in the field of diagnosis and treatment of oncology and surgery.
