Dr Shamsheer Vayalili, Managing Director Lifeline Hospital Group of was recognised at the Arab Health Awards in Dubai yesterday. Collecting the International Leadership Award, Arab Health recognised Dr Vayalili’s outstanding leadership skills in developing the Lifeline Hospital Group from a single Abu Dhabi medical establishment in 2007, to a multi-market, multi- disciplinary healthcare company less than five years later.
On receiving the award, Dr Vayalili said: “It is always an honour to be recognised by one’s peers, and it is truly a privilege to accept this accolade from the organisers of Arab Health. The success of the Lifeline Hospital Group is down not just to one person, but to a dedicated team of individuals and partners – each of whom shows exceptional commitment to our Group, and to the health and wellbeing of the residents of the UAE.” The Arab Health International Leadership Award was one of just eleven categories in the 2012 Arab Health Achievement and Innovation Awards.
The Lifeline Hospital Group started in Abu Dhabi with its first designed and operated hospital in the centre of the city in May 2007. Since then, the Group has grown to manage a number of hospitals and clinics in the GCC. There are now four healthcare facilities in Abu Dhabi, UAE and one in each of the cities Muscat, Sohar and Salalah in Oman. Lifeline’s first hospital in Dubai, the Modern Lifeline Hospital, will be operation by mid 2012. The hospital will be located near Time Square Shopping Centre just off Sheikh Zayed Road.
