This year the Mubadala tournament will see six of the ten greatest exponents in the world of men’s tennis competing against each other. Swiss watchmaker Rado is the official timekeeper and will feature the Rado D-Star. Rivoli and Hour Choice stores are seeing an increase in demand for Rado watches due to its unique material.
The much awaited tournament will take place from December 29 to 31, 2011 at the Zayed Sports City Stadium and will see Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, David Ferrer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gaël Monfils competing for the title. The Rado D-Star promises to create additional excitement with its unique ‘Carbon Diffused Steel’ material and pioneering technology.
The Rado D-Star is an exceptional timepiece derived from the revolutionary Rado DiaStar, the first watch made of hard metal and fitted with a sapphire crystal. Resulting from intensive research, Rado has created high-tech materials as yet unpublished. The material, steel hardened by diffusion of carbon, is obtained by heat treatment carried out on gas phase, but at a relatively low temperature. The result of this is a surface of exceptional brightness, enhanced with rose gold hands and with a hardness of 1000 to 1200 Vickers to a thickness of 50 microns.
Hugely popular among tennis and sports fans, the Rado D-Star embodies a combination of strength and design similar to the attributes of sporting achievement.
