Al Taweelah based smelter, Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) has held a community majlis as part of its ongoing commitment to be at the heart of local relations. The three day initiative, held from the 11th to 13th of December, provided the flagship UAE project an opportunity to engage members of the Al Taweelah community on the update of its Phase II expansion, as well as provide a platform for direct open dialogue with senior EMAL representatives, focusing on environment, health and safety.
This initiative is part of EMAL’s continuous communication with the local community, in addition to other activities that include regular quarterly newsletters, public national day celebrations, Ramadan events and open days for the public.
Speaking at the majlis, EMAL President and CEO, Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, said: “Since our inception, EMAL has looked to ensure we have a positive relationship with our local neighbours. We have successfully established a continual two-way conversation to address and attend to all the concerns and issues of our community. As a cornerstone project of the 2030 vision, it is our mission to positively benefit the people of the Emirates, so we are proud to contribute and be accepted as a member of the Al Taweelah community.”
