Al Ain Zoo brings an exciting programme of events and activities to visitors this year in celebration of the 40th UAE National Day. With Arabian wildlife and local culture & heritage at the core of the country’s 40th anniversary, families can enjoy both upbeat and relaxing activities throughout the day, including Harbiya and Ayalaa traditional dance (at 5:00pm and 7:00pm), poetry reading and Shalah (at 8:00pm), as well as creative experiences such as henna art, traditional handicrafts, local food cooking demonstrations and fabric printing.
Live games (from 4:00pm to 7:00pm), a colourful parrot show (at 3:00pm) and a traditional falconry presentation (at 11:00am) will be shown on stage, while Arabian Salukis (from 4:00pm to 8:00pm) and a selection of unique artefacts from the Al Ain National Museum will be on display. Children will also want to come dressed to impress, as the zoo will be holding a competition for Best Costume at 6:00pm.
Commenting on this special occasion, HE Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director General of Al Ain Zoo, said:
“This year’s National Day marks the 40th anniversary since the inception of the UAE and to honour this we will be offering our community a wide range of activities that inspire national pride in a fun and educational way. A place of heritage in itself that spans as far back as the union of the UAE, Al Ain Zoo provides an ideal outdoor destination for the whole family to celebrate this special holiday.”
On UAE National Day, December 2, the zoo will be open from 10am to 10pm. Visitors can plan ahead and avoid long queues by purchasing their tickets in-person in advance at Al Ain Zoo’s ticket windows.
