Etisalat Kick-Starts The UAE’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations With Special Content On TV And Mobile

Commemorating the 40th National Day on December 2, Etisalat today announced that all its eLife TV and mobile customers will enjoy special content that celebrates this important milestone. For eLife TV viewers, a new channel has been activated on Ch. No. 40, that will be broadcast documentaries and special programs about UAE.

The channel will televise a special edition of the ‘Baba Khalifa’ song sung by Etisalat’s very own e-junior character, Dana. The song specially produced on the occasion, is also available on-demand. In addition, customers will get to watch eLife TV’s exclusive historic content on the journey of the nation’s unification and landmark achievements. Through the days leading up to the National Day, the channel will link to live footage of songs and decade-old photos of the country from National TV channels as well. It will also feature exclusive interviews and insights into the lives of successful UAE citizens and sports personalities.

Commenting on Etisalat’s special treats on the occasion of the 40th National Day, Ali Al Ahmed, Chief Corporate Communication Officer at Etisalat, commented, “We take this opportunity to extend our greetings and wishes to the leaders of the UAE, and to each and every citizen and resident of this nation. As one of the UAE’s leading content distributors, we are pleased to introduce an extra, free-of-charge channel that will broadcast special content reflecting on the history of the UAE’s birth and its evolvement as a nation over the past four decades.”

As part of the special treats, Etisalat’s prepaid and postpaid mobile customers can subscribe to receive three content types on a weekly basis, priced at AED 4 per week. This includes SMS of the UAE’s top historical achievements, in sports, technology and many other areas. Customers can also download audio clips of the UAE’s national songs and poems; and wallpapers or animated files that will be sent to them via MMS or WAP push. Customers can subscribe to the service via SMS by sending ‘WATANI’ to ‘1110’.

Al Ahmed added, “Etisalat is the number one choice in communication and both, home and mobile entertainment for Emiratis. Living up to our customers’ expectations, in the build-up to the National day, Etisalat has lined up a series of promotions and activities for the celebration. Customers will be thrilled with the exciting on-ground activities in shopping malls across the UAE.”
