Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC), a leading insurance company in the UAE, and Yas Marina Circuit, are set to host the inaugural ADNIC Yas Run this Saturday 26th November at Yas Marina Circuit. The main adult race begins at 6pm, whilst the first children’s race begins at 4pm.

Tipped to finish first in the 10km event is 16 year old Kenyan running sensation, Gatonye Daniel, who recently won the Abu Dhabi Half Marathon in 1 hour 5 mins and 13 seconds. Another hot contender in the male event is Abu Dhabi Striders’, Lok Bahadur Rokaya, from Nepal.

Also participating is the team founder and leader of Team Abu Dhabi Triathlon, Faris Al Sultan, who will use the 10km race as training ahead of next year’s Abu Dhabi Triathlon. Hoping to finish the race within 35 minutes, Al Sultan, is looking forward to running on the iconic F1 track: “I love the venue. Of course I’d love to see many others on the start line who use this run as a start to a more active lifestyle.”

Commencing at sunset under a floodlit track on the official F1 starting grid, thousands of runners of all abilities will follow in the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel to run two laps around the world renowned F1 circuit. The ADNIC Yas Run is the first internationally certified 10k race in the region.

Spectators are welcome to attend free of charge this Saturday, where they can enjoy a range of activities and entertainment in the Race Village including face painting, stilt walkers and a magician.

16:00 - 1km Race (8 – 11 year olds) begins
16:45 - 3km Race (12 – 15 year olds) begins
18:00 - 10km Individual & Team Relay Race begins
18:05 - 1km & 3km Prize Giving
19:30 - 10km Prize Giving
21:00 - ADNIC Yas Run Athletes Village Closes

Race Village

- Food & beverage kiosks will be available on cash basis
- Music and giveaways
- The following companies will have stands, ADNIC, Etihad, Manchester City FC, Sport 360, ARWA/Coca Cola,
- The Manchester City FC stand will have Table football, Xbox consoles and Speed Kick Challenge.
- Entertainment and activities include - face painting, magician, bouncy castle and stilt walkers

The ADNIC Yas Run has been created by Yas Marina Circuit and Professional Sports Group, who will manage the sporting operations on the day. The creation of the race has been fully supported by ADNIC.
