The Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award organising committee announced today that 33 nominees were shortlisted and will compete to win the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award.
Award winners will be announced during a special ceremony organised under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, at Emirates Palace on November 17, 2011.According to the organizing committee 101 applications out of 127 met the standard criteria and were presented to the Awards Steering Committee for further evaluation.
Dr. Mohammed Bader Al Seiari, Award Executive Director and Director of Health System Compliance at HAAD said: “The Award Steering Committee of respective awards categories started evaluating the nominees from October 2011. Each application was reviewed according to the published assessment criteria. Based on the review results, appropriate recommendations of the top four runners up from each award category were submitted and winners will be announced at the award ceremony.”
Launched in July 2011 by the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the award aims to acknowledge professionals who have contributed to the improvement and enhancement of the healthcare system, encourage medical and scientific research, honor voluntary work and promote philanthropy.
The award categories include Surgical Performance, Clinical Performance, Medical Research, Medical Teaching, Allied Health, Health Administration & Management, Clinical Diagnostics & Laboratory and Medical Volunteering.
