Members of the business community in the UAE and South Africa held an extensive meeting today in Abu Dhabi to further cooperation and partnership between them.
The meeting, held at the Emirates Palace was attended by the members of the delegation accompanying South African President Jacob Zuma who is currently on an official visit to the UAE.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Chairman of the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi and senior executives of national companies attended the meeting from the UAE side , while the Minister of Trade and Industry of the South Africa Dr Rob Davies, South African Ambassador to the UAE Yacoob Abba Omar and officials of major companies in South Africa attended representing SA.
Opening the meeting Al Saleh stressed the importance of the developing relations and cooperation between the corporate sector in both countries through partnerships and mutual investments.
He shed light on the facilities offered by the UAE for setting up business and industrial projects in the Abu Dhabi emirate through direct investment.
Minister Dr Rob Davies asserted South Africa’s sincere desire to strengthen bilateral trade and investment between the two countries leading the ties between UAE and South Africa into strong political and economic bond. He also conveyed to the participants, greetings of President Jacob Zuma.
