In anticipation of the 2013 opening of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and in a continued expression of commitment to medical education, Cleveland Clinic will launch a speaker series featuring the clinical chairman from the hospital system’s main campus in the United States.
In collaboration with Mubadala Healthcare and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, the Cleveland Clinic Speaker Series, Exploring the Frontiers of Medicine, will begin Monday, November 14, 2011, featuring Herbert Wiedermann, M.D., Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Respiratory Institute and Department Chairman of Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care Medicine.
This first event will be held at the Al Mamoura (A) Auditorium from 7-9pm.
Dr. Weidemann, who joined Cleveland Clinic in 1982, will be sharing clinical best practices and the latest treatment options related to the treatment of respiratory disease. The series is approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, and accredited by Health Authority - Abu Dhabi for two Continued Medical Education (CME) hours.
The Cleveland Clinic Speaker Series will continue through the opening of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, with the next presentation scheduled for December 12 with Cleveland Clinic’s Chairman of the Digestive Disease Institute, John Fung, M.D.

In addition, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi has been under the management of Cleveland Clinic since 2007. The Cleveland Clinic Speaker Series is an opportunity to celebrate the collaboration between Cleveland Clinic, Mubadala and the government of Abu Dhabi.
