The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE and the Official Bank of 2011 Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, today welcomed world famous Titan the Robot at Yas Marina Circuit today. The giant robot will be entertaining race-goers throughout the entire weekend.
Titan, who travels to exciting events around the world, today made his debut appearance at a Formula 1 and also, in the UAE. Having just arrived from Hong Kong, he is considered one of the world’s smartest robots; he towers over the crowd at a height of 2.4 metres and weighs nearly 350 kilograms.
“The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, the Official Bank of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009, is determined to help make each Formula 1 event at Yas Marina Circuit more exciting and memorable for race-goers”, said May Ibrahim Bumajeed, the Deputy Head of Corporate Communication Department at NBAD.
“Each year the Bank develops original and exhilarating ideas for entertainment and education. This year, in addition to the fun-filled and informative activities taking place at the NBAD Display site in the F1 Village, Titan the Robot will amuse and entertain people throughout the Oasis entertainment areas.”
This is the third year in a row that Formula 1™ returns to Yas Marina Circuit, and the third time that NBAD is the official Bank of the event.
The NBAD Display Site, located in the F1 Village also known as Main Oasis, offers a host of entertaining activities that have made it one of the most popular spots in the arena.
“Every year the Bank makes sure to add a new exciting activity to our Formula 1 entertainment events to add to the excitements of Formula 1 and ensure the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is remarkable for every F1 attendee,”
Ms. Bumajeed said.
In addition to the entertainment and education events organised by NBAD, National Bank of Abu Dhabi is the exclusive bank to provide ATM services in the Yas Marina Circuit. Many of the NBAD ATMs in the arena are inside kiosks that are shaped like One NBAD Tower, the Bank’s Head Office in Abu Dhabi.
