Employers eager to snap up the UAE’s brightest local talent and in the process back the government’s Emiratisation initiatives are being presented with a powerful platform in Abu Dhabi. Thousands of Emiratis looking to take steps up the public and private sector career ladders will descend on Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) for the return of Tawdheef, the region’s leading recruitment event, taking place from 31 January to 2 February.
Only companies with immediately available positions to fill will take part, and big names like Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Dolphin Energy, Tawazun, Etihad, Emirates Aluminium, Emirates NBD and Mubadala have already confirmed their places in the exhibitor line-up alongside the UAE Presidential Guard.
"More than ever this year, we have the perfect platform for employers keen to recruit the best experienced Emirati professionals and fulfil emiratisation quotas," said Hayete Jemai, Exhibition Director, Tawdheef.
" Tawdheef is a unique opportunity to get in front of a wide range of serious employers all assembled under one roof.
"In demonstrating the importance of the continued integration of Emiratis in the country’s work force, we are seeking only companies that have open vacancies for Emirati nationals." Added Jemai: "Specialised recruitment fairs such as Tawdheef will continue to play a crucial role in supporting the Government’s Emiratisation initiatives." Supported by the Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP), and organised by Informa Exhibitions, the sixth edition of Tawdheef returns after a highly successful showing earlier this year when 71 companies presented 2,500 vacancies for UAE Nationals from the exhibition floor. Tawdheef is partnered with NAJAH education, training and careers event, and the Al Ain Education and Career Fair.
The event attracted 12,000 Emirati visitors - an increase of 28 per cent from the previous year. Vacancies for UAE Nationals ranged from banking and administration roles to more technical fields, including mechanical and nuclear engineering.
"Tawdheef builds and develops communication between the employer and the job seeker, and also focuses on matching specific vacancies with job seekers," said Essa Almulla, Executive Director of National Workforce Development, ENDP.
"This opportunity of having employers and job seekers under one roof allows an effective matching of vacancies which is a considerable step forward in enhancing our labour market with local talent and accordingly building a knowledge based economy".
