Rapid transformations in the aftermath of world financial crisis and recent Arab springs as well as political, economic, security and social instability at regional and international levels were tipped as direct factors to raise awareness about the inevitable role of economy as a dynamic driver to bring about more stability and development to countries of the world.
Khaled Ghanem Al Ghaith, Assistant to UAE Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, told the opening session of a conference on commercial diplomacy and relevant concepts, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is playing a critical role in responding to these global political and economic changes by adopting a resilient approach in that respect. Senior economic and trade officials and experts, commercial attaches of UAE embassies abroad, dignitaries and diplomats including U.S. Ambassador to the UAE Michael Corbin, were present at the opening ceremony..
These proactive economic initiatives, he added, had clear impact in energising the national economy.
The four-day event, which is jointly hosted by Ministry of foreign Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Trade, aims to hone skills of commercial attaches and heads of economic sections at UAE representative mission abroad so as to improve mechanisms they use to do their economic and diplomatic job. Through a series of workshops, experts and economists will deliver presentations on commercial and investment policies.
Al Ghanem said such important economic gatherings are critical for improving trade and investment promotion which, in turn, enables the UAE to bolster its trade and economic relations with other countries.
