Making Technology And Family Values Work
(22 October 2011)

Technology has certainly changed the way people communicate with their kids, but more importantly the way they communicate with each-other. Maths-Whizz will be presenting the innovative Maths-Whizz learning engine that shows how to make this work at home and in school at the ADNEC centre in Abu Dhabi stand number D105 between 25th and 26th October 2011. CEO Richard Marett explains why Maths-Whizz works:

In keeping with the ‘Powering Learning’ theme of BETT 2012, Maths-Whizz, the online suite of services that guarantees raised standards in numeracy for 5 to 13 year-olds, is encouraging visitors to ‘power happiness in numbers’. The award-winning system is renowned for its ability to create excellent learning outcomes by building confidence and encouraging linked learning at home and in schools.

Earlier this year the Pisa Study, carried out over 65 countries by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), revealed that the UK is slipping down the world education ranking in maths, and has been overtaken by Poland and Norway.

Faced with this disheartening trend, Maths-Whizz is more determined than ever to encourage happiness in numbers and support a reversal. It creates a shared learning experience for students, parents and teachers with whole-class interactive tools, online personalised tutoring and best practice support worldwide, but above all it is proven to raise standards in maths.

Maths-Whizz is an affiliate of well-known parent company, Whizz Education. Whizz Education enables individuals, families and communities to reach their full potential - by delivering effective, personalised teaching and learning world-wide.

Visitors to BETT 2012 are invited to meet the Whizz Prof, who will be in attendance each day with plenty of t-shirts, stickers and other treats for teachers to take away for their school. In addition, and exclusive to BETT visitors, any school that purchases 75 or more Maths-Whizz Tutoring Plus+ annual subscriptions will be provided with free access to Maths-Whizz Teachers’ Resource for six months.

A competition to win an annual subscription of Tutoring+ will run daily, and on the last day, one overall winner will be awarded six months access to Teachers’ Resource for their school. As well as opening the floor to more than 150 exhibitors, BETT Middle East 2011 promises to help educationalists power learning through the broadest range of continuing professional development (CPD) seminars and conferences delivered by some of the greatest thought-leaders in the education sector today. It is free to attend and will run on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 October from 10am to 6pm, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre ( ADNEC), Abu Dhabi.
