ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) has achieved 41 percent Emiratization and is on track to have 44 percent of its workforce made up of UAE nationals by end-2011.
Saeed Al Shamisi, ADNEC’s Deputy HR Director, said, “In line with the Abu Dhabi government’s vision to prioritise Emiratization, ADNEC has been able to provide academically and professionally qualified young UAE nationals an opportunity to develop their careers.
From 32 UAE nationals in 2006, ADNEC currently employs 100 UAE nationals out of a total 243 employees.
“More than 70 percent of ADNEC’s senior management is made up of UAE nationals,” said Al Shamisi adding that ADNEC was keenly focused on giving UAE nationals priority in the recruitment process, ongoing assessment of employee performance and, a structured secondment programme at ExCeL London for UAE nationals that enables ADNEC’s national employees to gain valuable international experience. “To date, 20 UAE nationals have benefited from the secondment programme.”
In 2011, ADNEC reinforced its executive leadership by appointing UAE nationals to three senior roles: Chief Sales & Managing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Finance.
