The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City will start full implementation of Tawtheeq Project for registration of tenancy contracts and leasable properties from Nov. 1st, by activating strategic partnerships with the Department of Transport, Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company.

All leasable properties and tenancy contracts have to be registered under Tawtheeq e-system in order for tenants to avail smooth and hassle-free services from the strategic partners of the Project.

The Municipality urged property management companies to expedite the registration of properties they manage under Tawtheeq system in implementation of the Decision of HH the Chairman of the Executive Council - Abu Dhabi, No (4) for 2011 regarding the rules and regulations of registering tenancy contracts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The Municipality’s call for ensuring registration in Tawtheeq system comes as part of its efforts to safeguard the rights of tenants & landlords, provide database in support of property owners/property management companies and tenants to protect the rights of all parties.

It also illustrates its endeavours to provide detailed statistical data about the real estate market in Abu Dhabi Emirate, provide tools and technologies required by property management companies and landlords to help them streamline the management of their own properties; a step which will improve and streamline the real estate market.

Owaidah Al Qubaisi, Acting Executive Director of Municipal Services Sector called on all property management companies to expedite the registration of their leasable properties in Tawtheeq project stating that companies which fail to complete registration will experience unnecessary difficulties in processing their transactions and availing essential services integral to their interests. "Registration in Tawtheeq will be a precondition for processing tenancy contracts and in future it will be a key requirement for processing transactions of relevance to strategic partners among other departments, agencies and bodies of concern," he added.

Coordination and activation of partnerships with the concerned bodies is currently underway with the aim of providing excellent services to customers and simplify procedures in order to ensure the best standards for delivering quality services to customers.

For his part Ali Al Hashimi, Head of Tawtheeq Section, stressed the key role played by property management companies for the successful implementation of the project through taking the initiative to register the details of properties they manage under Tawtheeq e-system; which would have a key role in providing accurate statistics about the Real Estate market in Abu Dhabi city, and benefiting from real estate transactions approved by the official bodies in a transparent manner protecting the rights of the two contracting parties.

"Tawtheeq system ensures that property management companies will enjoy handy procedures which include opening of an account with the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, registering details of leasable properties, registering details of tenants currently occupying existing units, and using the system phase; which includes all rental transactions such as issuance of new contracts, renewal & cancellation of contracts, and amendment of contracts among other services in the realm of Tawtheeq project," continued Al Hashimi.
