Dana Younis from Abu Dhabi will be driving around in style this year as the winner of the “Be Surprised” competition organised by Volkswagen Ali & Sons in the United Arab Emirates.
The Facebook competition highlighted the recently launched all-new, redesigned and restyled Jetta that has already proven a fast favourite around the globe with over 9.6 million units sold worldwide.
The regional competition, organised by Volkswagen Middle East, was part of a roadshow in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and UAE, where Facebook fans were asked to spot the masked all-new Jetta. From 10th of May until the 23rd the masked car was placed in prominent locations in Abu Dhabi including Marina Mall, Khalidiya Mall, Marina Mall - Airport Road and Hilton Hotel, where people could take a picture and upload it on Facebook. All participants had their name included in a draw with the winner entitled to drive the car free for one full year.
Dana Younis received the coveted prize in the Ali & Sons Volkswagen showroom on 21st September 2011 by Volkswagen Brand Manager Ammar Al Johmani and Sales Manager Samer Doueier.
“We were not surprised to see the buzz around the competition as recent sales figures show that this is a car that people can’t wait to get their hands on. We expect the hype to increase, rather than die down, because the all-new Jetta is even better than before with a price that makes it accessible to more consumers in the region,” commented Ammar Johmani.

Measuring in at 4.64 metres long, the 2011 Jetta means consumers now get a lot more for a lot less, because it is not only stylish and safe, it is now more affordable than ever. And starting from 69,400 AED, Volkswagen automotive excellence is now more accessible to people in the Emirates.
This is the best Jetta yet, and with the great positive feedback that the model has received so far, it’s hard to imagine it could get any better.
