Grand Millennium Al Wahda, part of the Millennium & Copthorne hotel group, has seen more than 300,000 visitors to the hotel in its first year of business. More than 100 different nationalities can be counted among the hotel’s many guests since 15 October 2010, coming to experience spacious hotel rooms, Abu Dhabi’s largest health club and spa or the variety of restaurants.
To mark the anniversary of its opening, the hotel is inviting guests, visitors and the Abu Dhabi community to a cake and tea party in the hotel lobby between 14:00 and 18:00 on Saturday 15 October.
Proving itself to be as popular with employees as with guests, Grand Millennium Al Wahda has retained more than three quarters of its employees since opening and today counts more than 50 different nationalities and almost as many languages among its workforce. A separate event will be held for all the hotel’s employees to celebrate the year’s achievements. The hotel is also rated either ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very good’ by 88 per cent of reviews on Trip Advisor.
Michael Sorgenfrey, General Manager of Grand Millennium Al Wahda said:
“The first year for any hotel is crucial, and the fact that we are getting such positive feedback scores from our guests means that we are listening to our guests and meeting or even exceeding their expectations by going the extra mile. The great reviews is a tribute to the commitment of our colleagues. Our internal anniversary event is an acknowledgement and a thank you for their dedication and hard work.”
In its first year, the hotel has served more than 30,000 room service items, including a number of dishes from the new diabetic menu which was launched in July this year. Looking forward, the hotel intends to extend its range of healthy menu options for adults and children, and through a range of new developments and incentives, such as its ‘Biggest Shrinker’ challenge it will continue to encourage healthy living.
