The United Arab Emirates, took part in the Subministerial Meeting of the Forum for the Future 2011, to be hosted on 6 October 2011 in Paris, under the co-presidency of France and Kuwait.
The United Arab Emirates was represented to the meeting by Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Tareq Ahmed Al Haidan.
The meeting presented and discussed the recommendations emerged from the three regional preparatory workshops which took place earlier in Kuwait on gender equality, in Marseille on economic issues and in Marrakesh on youth empowerment.
These recommendations will inform the discussion of the 8th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum for the Future, to be held in Kuwait in November 2011, and provide a set of constructive proposals and recommendations that could fruitfully feed the discussion between governments and civil society.
In 2008, the United Arab Emirates hosted the 5th Ministerial Meeting of the Forum for the Future. The meeting was co-chaired by Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
