A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) discussed with Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (AUDPC) the means of developing the cooperation between the ADCCI and the private companies and establishments operating in Abu Dhabi.
The two sides also discussed the proper channels to enhance the role of the private sector in the urban planning development in Abu Dhabi taking advantage of what Abu Dhabi Urban Plan 2030 provides from opportunities and facilities to the private sector.
The visit of the ADCCI delegation, headed by Khalfan Saeed Al Kaabi, First Vice-President of the ADCCI, to the ADUPC comes within the frames of "Tawasul" Program to develop the communication between the Chamber and its members.
The visiting delegation included the Board Members Huda Abdul Rahman Al Matroushi, Abu Bakr Khouri, Nasser Al Maamari and Dr Qasem Al Oum; and the ADCCI Director General Mohammed Hilal Al Muheiri and a number of the Chamber’s executive managers.
The ADCCI delegation listened to a detailed explanation from the ADUPC about the development projects, plans and initiatives of the council which all round about "Estidama" (Arabic for Sustainability); the programme which was launched and being managed by the ADUPC to shed the light on the commitment of the government of Abu Dhabi in developing a sustainable environment for future generations.
Falah Mohammed Al Ahbabi, General Manager of the ADUPC, discussed with the visiting delegation the strategy of the sustainable urban planning of the emirate of Abu Dhabi which materializes the visions of the wise leadership of Abu Dhabi in setting a model for a modern capital in the twenty first century. He said that this strategy will put the means of protecting heritage and culture at the top of the Council’s priorities.
The officials of the ADUPC previewed a wide range of projects and initiatives which are being underway. They shed the light on the development of the urban planning of the emirate of Abu Dhabi - the Capital 2030, Al Ain 2030, and the Western Region 2030. They also delivered some information about the plans, strategies and initiatives of the ADUPC.
The delegation of the Chamber praised the pivotal role of the ADUPC, especially the sustainable urban development plans in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. They also praised the policies and the directions of the council which all aim at making the city of Abu Dhabi and the rest of the cities of the emirate model cities that meet all the requirements of a modern lifestyle and answer the current and future needs of their residents.
The visiting delegation urged the private companies and establishments in Abu Dhabi to take advantage of the investment opportunities provided by the futuristic urban plans of the emirate of Abu Dhabi and to interact with Estidama initiative which seeks to set up a sustainable urban environment in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in compliance with the goals of Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
The delegation expressed the awareness of the Chamber and its readiness to inform the business community in Abu Dhabi about the works, services and initiatives of the ADUPC and to adopt any initiatives that serve the sustainable and comprehensive economic development process in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
