ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality value-based education, aims to sustain its strong 2010 performance as it welcomes a new batch of students for its 2011 Fall Semester. With more than 175 newly enrolled students, ALHOSN’s total number of registrants since summer has reached nearly 1,500. This year, the university hired 18 new professors and teaching assistants to ensure efficient delivery and implementation of its innovative curriculum and programs.

Last year, ALHOSN signed major partnership agreements with international institutions, such as the University of Michigan-Dearborn and the University of Kettering. It also obtained full accreditation for its Industrial and Software Engineering undergraduate programs. As host to the 31st conference of Arab Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers, the university affirmed its rising importance in the region’s educational landscape. ALHOSN officials are confident that the coming months will yield similar high-profile achievements.

“We are all excited about the 2011 school year given our exceptional performance last year. We have emerged as a highly respected educational institution not only in Abu Dhabi but at the national and regional levels as well, and we want to share our success with our incoming students. One of the areas we want to continue focusing on is our commitment to holistic personal growth. We have several events and activities lined up designed to develop social responsibility and interpersonal skills among our students. We feel that we have the right combination of faculty and staff this year to further broaden our mission of ‘global knowledge with local vision’,” said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO, ALHOSN University.

Since opening its doors in 2005 to students of all nationalities, ALHOSN University has gained a strong reputation as a hub not only for world-class education but for youth-driven community service as well. It currently offers 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
