A delegation from Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADDCI) recently visited Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) and Sheikh Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and discussed their role and futuristic plans in compliance with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
This visit comes within the frame of "Tawasul" Programme which was launched by the ADCCI to develop the relationship with its members.
The delegation listened to a presentation about the services of ADPC and KIZAD and their future projects as well as the importance of the industrial zone and how it is linked to Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
Officials at KIZAD stressed on its role in realizing sustainable economic development, diversifying income resources and lessening the dependence on oil and gas. They also noted that KIZAD will create many job vacancies in different industrial sectors which require skills and qualifications.
The officials said that the futuristic plans of KIZAD were placed to realize a 15 percent contribution in the non-oil Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Abu Dhabi by 2030 that KIZAD will play a major role in attracting Foreign Direct Investments (FDI).
The two sides also discussed the means of increasing the cooperation between the private sector and each of ADPC and KIZAD in placing a solid ground for the sustainable development which would expand the economic base of Abu Dhabi. They also discussed the means of developing legislations to attract more local and foreign investors.
The ADCCI delegation was headed by Khalfan Saeed Al Kaabi, First Vice-President of the ADCCI; and included Board Members Huda Abdul Rahman Al Matroushi, Naser Al Maamari and Dr Qasem Al Oum; Mohammed Hilal Al Muheiri, Director General of the ADCCI; and a number of executive managers at the ADCCI.
The ADCCI will promote for Khalifa Port and KIZAD during all the industrial, economic and investment events it holds and participates. It will also promote for the available investment opportunities in KIZAD in order to encourage investors from the UAE and abroad to invest in it including the Specialized Free Zones which falls under the supervision of ADPC.
The ADCCI delegation expressed its readiness to provide all the required facilities to meet the demands and process the documents of ADPC and KIZAD, and approve all the industrial, trade and services licenses which are issued by them as per the licensing rules and regulations of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
