Tawam Hospital, in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine, today opened itsSecond International Pain Management Conference. Held under the theme ‘Balancing Benefits and Risk in Pain Medicine’, the two day event is being held at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, and is hosted bythe Anesthesia and Pain Management Department at Tawam. The conference opened with a series of comprehensive lectures,interactive discussionsand workshops onthe delicate balance of benefit and risk in different modalities of pain medicine. Afternoon discourse was dominated by the latest developments and research in treating cancer pain, including a lecture on the UAE experienceof cancer pain treatment specifically.
