British television personality KirstyGallacher has been confirmed as the host of this year’s red-carpet F1 event, the Chequered Flag Ball, due to take place at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort on November 11.

Kirsty will host the evening along with local television and radio personality Tom Urquart.

She is the daughter of former British Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Gallacher and began her presenting career on Sky Sports News before going to host her own shows both on television and radio - including Gladiators and Kirsty’s Home Videos.

Speaking ahead of her visit to the UAE capital, Kirsty said: “I love the F1 and Yas Marina is a great track in a city we hear more and more about.”

“The Abu Dhabi Formula 1 grand prix should be a great race weekend as ever, and starting your weekend with a night of fabulous entertainment in the company of some highly distinguished guests at the Chequered Flag Ball is quite special.”

“The F1 weekend is an occasion in itself and I’m really excited about starting my Abu Dhabi F1 weekend with the Chequered Flag Ball.”

The Chequered Flag Ball will be held on Friday November 11 and is set to welcome a host of celebrities from the worlds of film, music, fashion and sport together with the public in a celebration of motorsport.

British soul singer Mica Paris and former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan have already been confirmed as headline acts for the glittering evening of high-octane entertainment.
