In line with the government’s vision to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of government services and information, the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) is striving to serve the needs of its customers with strategically located customer service centres throughout Abu Dhabi Emirate.
EAD opened its first customer service centres in 2006 to cater to the specific needs of new and existing industrial facilities, developers, companies trading in chemicals and hazardous materials, environmental consultants, fishermen, farmers and those engaged in recreational fishing activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Today, EAD has a network of 10 customer service centres throughout the Emirate, providing its customers with a range of services. These include: Fishing permits including traditional fishing licenses (weekly and annual); recreational fishing licenses; commercial fishing licenses including ’Gargour’ permits and ’Hadhra’ permits Permitting of development and infrastructure projects Permitting of industrial facilities Permitting companies trading in chemical and hazardous materials Permitting of groundwater well drilling Permitting of diving centres Registration of environmental consultants Registration of groundwater well contractors Convention on International Trade of Endangered Flora and Fauna (CITES) Permit for those who wish to import or export endangered species across for personal use or business.
Falcon Passport for those who wish to move legally-acquired falcons across international borders for personal use.
Visitors to the EAD Customer Service Centres can also access information such as the list of restricted and banned chemicals in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the list of registered environmental consultants and their fields of expertise, environmental laws and codes of practice.
The EAD Customer Service Centres are located at the: Abu Dhabi Municipality (within the Customer Service Centre of the Department of Economic Development) Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Unified Centre for Marine Permitting in the Abu Dhabi Free Port TAMM centres (Delma Island, Al Mirfa, Liwa, Al Silaa, Gayathi and Madinat Zayed) EAD’s Al Ain office EAD works with the Western Region Municipality’s TAMM centres (which means ’done’ in Arabic) to ensure the availability of its services for the residents of Sila, Gayathi and Madinat Zayed. Six TAMM representatives have been trained on how to answer customer enquiries and process requests on behalf of EAD.
All of EAD’s customer service centres are open from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday.
