New EMAL Training Courses Pave Way For 40 Emirati Careers
(12 September 2011)
EMAL Guarantees Jobs Upon Completion For Largest Pre-Employment Course Intake To Date

Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) bolstered its commitment to build the Emirate’s workforce of tomorrow by welcoming 40 new pre-employment course (PEC) trainees to the company this week, the smelter’s largest employee intake to date.

Designed to provide Emiratis with theoretical and practical training in preparation for jobs with the Al Taweelah based company, the courses will train the new intake over the next 6 to 24 months. The courses cover technical areas including Smelter, Power, and Maintenance, and the graduates will be enrolled to the designated area, upon successful completion.

Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, EMAL’s President and CEO, said: “EMAL is successfully training the Emirati workforce of tomorrow. Growth in the non oil and gas sector is a key element of the UAE’s 2030 Vision, and EMAL is leading the way in ensuring a sustainable economic future for the country by investing in the UAE’s strongest resource, our people. The successes of the PEC programs are providing a stable future for the UAE economy and jobs for the local community.”

At a special ‘Welcome Onboard Programme’ event held at the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, the National trainees kick-started careers at the smelter complex, with speeches and presentations from departmental representatives and senior management, including EMAL President and CEO, Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei. At the event, Abdelhakeem Al Mushtaghil, EMAL’s Vice President, Human Resources, added: “Our PEC programs are a demonstration of our commitment to fostering the next generation of UAE talent. We wish our National trainees a successful career with EMAL.”

Trainees immediately commenced courses following the welcoming ceremony with a tour of the facility, before beginning their respective training.
