The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City will launch Murjan Splash Park at Khalifa Park on the first day of Eid Al Fitr. It’s a diversified entertainment environment fitted Splash Park with recreational facilities and educational tools in an exciting and unique platform inspired by the magic of the vibrant sea world, primarily targeting children and families.

Engineer Abdullah Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Infrastructure and Municipal Assets, described "Murjan" Splash park as one of the pioneering projects conducted by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City out of its vision of ensuring superior living standard and sustainable environment for Abu Dhabi residents.

"Murjan" depicts the keen attention of the Municipality to provide recreational avenues and diverse alternatives to the inhabitants of the metropolitan area and encourage them to avail these facilities which are being constantly upgraded by the Municipality to bring them in line with world-class standards in terms of healthy environment, modern services and security for all family and community members," said Al Shamsi.

"The Splash Park comprises of an adventure land fitted with water fixtures, convenient areas for play, and fun as well as outlets for selling foods and other products and comfortable sitting areas. Exciting underwater events are in place highlighted by jellyfish multi-colored umbrellas and aquatic creatures as well as staggering theatrical lighting and sound system and create an interactive multi-fun environment for all family members," continued Al Shamsi.

The main feature of "Murjan" Splash Parke is the children’s play structure located in a shallow pool with 4 small water slides, a giant tipping bucket, a crawl tunnel, water guns, a water umbrella, small tipping buckets, a water wheel, and water showers.

"Murjan" also has a 257-meter lazy river that is .6 meters deep where you can relax in a tube and ride it around the twists and turns of the parks and contains 4 trampolines with harnesses for the guest to jump and flip on. Guests will be able to pilot their own Dhow around obstacles, through tunnels and past other boats in the Radio Controlled Dhow Derby.

The Splash Park at Khalifa Park is part of endeavors of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City to provide all resources that contribute to making Abu Dhabi an ideal place for living and recreation through developing project potentials, including parks, gardens and recreational facilities offering visitors along with their families access to a world of fun and recreation for practicing hobbies and entertainment activities in a privacy and secure environment.
