Starting on the first day of the Eid Al Fitr holidays, Al Ain Zoo will offer great new opportunities for guests to engage with animals. The new Giraffe Feeding station and ‘Elezba’, a petting zoo with farm animals including Camel rides, provide both young and old alike with a fun and interactive experience to enhance their visit to Al Ain Zoo.
The Giraffe Feeding is a unique interactive wildlife experience, allowing guests to enjoy the magnificent giraffe up-close and marvel at their long tongues which allow them to grab treats such as carrots or lettuce. The Giraffe Feeding takes place five times daily in a specially designed area next to the Reptile House. Tickets for the Giraffe Feeding experience are available at the designated kiosk within the feeding area; suitable giraffe feed is included in the ticket price.
Another new experience is ‘Elezba’, a petting zoo designed in the style of a local farm where families and children are invite to get up close to domesticated furry and feathered animals. On display are sheep, goats, camels, llamas, chicken and ducks, and children are encouraged to touch, pet and feed them. Special animal feed can be purchased at the F&B retail kiosk at the entrance into the farm. Those who are looking for some excitement will enjoy the Camel ride which will be available inside ‘Elezba’. The area also provides a designated family picnic area. ‘Elezba’ is open daily from 11am to 8pm and access is included in the zoo’s entrance ticket at no extra cost.
Commenting on these new experiences, Muna Aldhaherie, Manager Education Centre of Al Ain Zoo said, “The coming Eid holidays mark an exciting change in how visitors see and experience our zoo.
