(22 August 2011)
’Abu Dhabi WoodShow’ To Throw The Spotlight On Booming Wood Industry In UAE Capital

Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions, one of the leading exhibition and conference organizers in the United Arab Emirates, has announced the launch of the first ever ‘Abu Dhabi International Wood and Wood Machinery Show,’ which will be held from October 18 to October 20, 2011 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC). The ‘Abu Dhabi WoodShow’ is a strategic event where buyers and sellers can connect, meet and establish long lasting business relationships. As the first-of-its-kind event in the UAE capital, the exhibition will feature the products and services of over 100 companies coming from the entire wood and forestry spectrum across 4,000 square meters of exhibition space at ADNEC.

Exhibitors coming from more than 20 countries will participate in the ‘Abu Dhabi WoodShow’ and among these will be four dedicated country pavilions. The event looks towards targeting distributors, suppliers, interior designers, furniture manufacturers, carpenters, wholesale traders & retailers, building material manufacturers, construction suppliers and project developers in Abu Dhabi and across the Middle East. In addition, the three-day event will feature specialized sections showcasing key products like clipboard and MDF, wood and timber flooring, veneer and surface treatments and furnishings. Leading wood machinery companies from Germany, Italy, Spain, Taiwan and China have already confirmed their participation at the event and will showcase top-of-the-line products like extraction systems, sanding machines, coating, painting & drying machines, profile sanding, post-forming and other complementary machines.

“The vibrancy of Abu Dhabi’s construction industry is ably reflected in the continuing influx of major infrastructure projects. This development has also helped drive in an increased demand for more wood products and technologically-advanced wood machinery,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions. “We are looking to take advantage of this development with the launch of the ‘Abu Dhabi WoodShow,’ which could not have come at a more strategic time. Exhibitors and visitors can look forward to an exciting three-day event as we have planned a strategic and very comprehensive program. We are aiming to live up to our commitment of positioning the Abu Dhabi WoodShow as a prime venue for buyers and sellers to meet and showcase the latest in wood machinery technology.”

Organizers have revealed that the continuously increasing usage of wood as an essential building material combined with the growing demand for effective and highly-reliable wood working machinery are the key focus points of this event. Moreover, the ’Abu Dhabi WoodShow’ sets out to create an international networking structure where woodworking sectors will be able to meet the needs of world customers, showing top-quality wood products and wood machinery. The ‘Abu Dhabi WoodShow’ is part of a series of wood and wood machinery exhibitions, which includes the ‘Cairo WoodShow 2011’ and ‘Dubai WoodShow 2012,’ that are all being organized by Strategic Marketing.

“So far, we have already received an overwhelming response to our decision to mount a wood and woodworking machinery exhibition in the UAE capital. The event complements Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a market with immense potential and falls in line with the strategic Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, which aims to package the emirate as a totally sustainable and highly urbanized growth area. With this in mind, ‘Abu Dhabi WoodShow’ not only sets out to showcase the latest in wood products, wood machinery and related technology but also serves as a prime venue where visitors can learn more about the wood industry and its growing potential as an essential building material. The Gulf region is expected to widely benefit from this strategic event and can help drive in more growth for the wood industry,” concluded Al Shezawi.
