Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a top-tier Islamic financial services group, announced today that its Children’s Banking mascot, the Darhoom, participated in ‘Summer in My Country’ program in Umm Al Quwain.
The Center of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development in Umm Al Quwain in collaboration with ADIB Umm Al Quwain branch, organized an entertainment event for children participating in the ‘Saif Blady’ or ‘Summer in my Country’ program.
Titled ‘Save with Darhoom,’ the event was inaugurated with a cultural introduction about the importance of saving. ADIB Banoon Children’s Savings Account was introduced to the students in order to raise awareness among children about the importance of saving at an early age. ADIB also highlighted the role which parents could play to instill the concept of saving in their children and the efforts of ADIB to improve financial literacy levels amongst individuals and families and increase their awareness about sound future planning.
In addition, Umm Al Quwain Cultural Centre hosted the Emirati actor Abdullah Abu Abed. Along with Darhoom, he presented a range of cultural and entertainment competitions which saw excellent participation by the children. He presented two cartoon characters ‘Juma’ and ‘Jumaia’ to their delight. Artistic workshops organized included painting and pottery coloring in addition to face painting and interaction with clown characters.
