’Zayed and the Dream’ produced by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), the latest spectacular production from the Caracalla Dance Theatre, has drawn huge crowds, during performances last Saturday at California University in Los Angeles, following its successful shows last week in Washington DC.
Zayed and the Dream depicts the story of the United Arab Emirates and the country’s march into progress led by its founder the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The play is performed by more than 100 renowned artists and poets from the UAE and Arab and foreign countries.
’Zayed and the Dream’ was produced by ADACH in cooperation with Caracalla Theater. The play was performed for the first time in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi on the occasion of the National Day in 2008. The ADACH staged the show in several cities across the world, including Beirut, Paris, London, Dubai and more recently in the US (Washington DC and Los Angeles). The shows were presented in Arabic, with a direct translation into English.
The Abu Dhabi Group for Traditional and Performing Arts, which was founded last year by ADACH in the framework of its cultural strategy, also took part in the staging of the play, which dazzled the audience.
The ADACH seeks to promote the principles of human relations in civilizations whilst encouraging the values of mutual respect between various cultures. The Authority also aims to undertake a pioneering cultural role through the development of projects that encourage the sharing of experiences around the globe.
Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Director General of ADACH, expressed his pride in taking this great theatrical achievement outside the United Arab Emirates. He gave due regard to the founder of the UAE, the late father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The play has enormously impressed the international media, whilst creating a distinct cultural and media communication between East and West.
