Corporate Games, the largest multi-sports festival for businesses and organisations, will be held in Abu Dhabi between the 7th and the 10th of December 2011. With endorsement of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event promises to give athletes from all ages and backgrounds a chance to experience and play in an international competition.

Known worldwide as the ultimate combination of sports, business and tourism; the 3-days festival is expected to attract thousands of athletes from hundreds of organizations to play in 15 different sports.

Richard Curzon, Chief Operating Officer for the event said “We are pleased to establish Corporate Games in Abu Dhabi as an on-going annual event that caters to those who value health and fitness regardless of their age, gender, abilities or background. We hope that the Games will bring diverse types businesses together and provide a foundation for networking opportunities.”

Since inception in San Francisco in 1988, the Games have been staged in over 25 countries and 53 cities across the world. In twenty-three years, the festival has successfully gathered around one million athletes from 18,000 businesses to compete and network.

“The festival is an excellent opportunity not only to network, but also to build teamwork spirit, enhance employees’ morale, reduce absenteeism and improve the personal fitness of both management and staff” Curzon added.

The first edition of the Abu Dhabi Corporate Games will be held in five venues; Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi Beaches Sports Park, Al Forsan International Sports Resort, the Abu Dhabi Corniche and Dome@Rawdhat. The Games will be hosted in association with the Higher Colleges of Technology and with Duplays as the Official Sports Training Partner and Sport360 as the Official Newspaper.
